Allan Smethurst is remembered with fondness, a most unlikely and eccentric pop star, who rose to prominence forty years ago after appearing regularly on About Anglia. But to the millions who rushed to buy his best-known hit, ’Hev Yew Gotta Light Boy’, he was simply The Singing Postman.
